Vans and cars: Daimler bundles rental business

The rental business for cars and vans from Mercedes-Benz is now under one roof. To this end, Daimler Mobility has bundled the two brands Mercedes-Benz Rent and Mercedes-Benz Van Rental at its subsidiary Mercedes-Benz Vans Mobility GmbH and renamed it Mercedes-Benz Automotive Mobility GmbH at the same time. With this step, Daimler wants to optimize the sale of its rental offer in cooperation with retailers and thus address new target groups with short to medium-term mobility needs.

As a further task of the newly formed company, the manufacturer named the expansion and development of new mobility products in addition to the existing subscription offers for the electric models from Mercedes. This is intended to “pave the way for a simple, digital customer journey,” it said.

“With flexible usage models such as rental and subscription, we meet the individual needs of our customers for private and commercial use. By bundling our rental business, we are simplifying our processes and expanding our rental and mobility offering,” explained Stefan Sonntag, CEO of Mercedes -Benz Automotive Mobility.

As before, customers can also book rental vehicles from participating Mercedes dealerships or branches. According to the manufacturer, there are more than 400 locations across Germany. The rental offer covers the entire Mercedes-Benz and Smart model range and covers rental periods from 24 hours to a maximum of two years. The headquarters of Mercedes-Benz Automotive Mobility GmbH is in Berlin.
