We are stronger than ever: Lamborghini sets a new sales record in 2021

Lamborghini ended 2021 with a sales record, as the Italian luxury sports car manufacturer announced. 8,405 vehicles were delivered worldwide, the best year in the company’s history. Thanks to a targeted and controlled growth strategy, sales figures increased by 13 percent compared to 2020.

In terms of individual markets, the US maintains its lead position (2,472 vehicles, up 11 percent), while China is in second place (935, up 55 percent), according to the release. Germany (706, up 16 percent) and the United Kingdom (564, up 9 percent) followed. Italy also recorded an increase of three percent (359 vehicles).

“Record confirms us”

“This record confirms us on four points: the solidity of our strategic plan, the excellent international reputation of our brand, the competence and passion of our employees and the extraordinary professionalism and dynamism of our 173 dealers in 52 markets, who continue to work together in difficult and uncertain times invested with us,” said Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann.

As a result, the SUV Urus was the most popular model with 5021 vehicles delivered. It was followed by the Huracn (V10 model) with 2586 vehicles and the Aventador (V12 model) with 798.

Hybrid range from 2023

“We are stronger than ever and are preparing for a phase of far-reaching changes that will lead us into an even more sustainable future,” continued Winkelmann. “In 2022 we plan to continue to consolidate current results and prepare for the arrival of our future hybrid range from 2023.”

Lamborghini presented its future electrification strategy in 2021. More than 1.5 billion euros are to be invested over a period of four years. Lamborghini will therefore launch its first hybrid production model in 2023 and electrify its entire product range by the end of 2024, with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions by 50 percent from 2025. In the second half of the decade, an all-electric model is to be added. (os)
