According to ACEA data, Italy has been the only market that has registered falls in sales of electric cars (almost 15%).

Meanwhile, the rise of electric vehicles is putting tax benefits on the tightrope of those who enjoy this type of vehicle in countries like Norway, where they are seeing how income to the public coffers is thinning.

On the other hand, plug-in hybrids have lost ground in Germany and France, while Spain and Italy recorded solid growth (+46.3% and +18.9%, respectively). And be careful because they still represent a smaller market share than diesel.

With 563,030 cars sold from January to March, non-plug-in hybrid vehicles were the most common fuel type after petrol in terms of volume in the EU, up 5.3%.
