where to see the first trailer of the already cult film?

James Cameron is back on Pandora. After more than ten years of waiting, the film offers a spectacular sequel, and a first high-flying trailer.

Expected for December 14 in France, Avatar 2 knew how to make himself desired. Thirteen years after the release of the first filmwhich marked the (short) event of 3D cinema, James Cameron offers us a return to Pandora, in a sequel called The Way of Water (or The Way of the Water in French).

A still nebulous project, since if the announcement made a lot of noise, no image had previously leaked. For good reason, the first trailer of the film is for the moment reserved for the only spectators of the film. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. A priori, no relationship between the two licenses, except that 20th Century Fox behind the film has since 2019 been acquired by Disney, which already owns Marvel.

A breathtaking trailer

It was first in French cinemas that Disney hit hard, by broadcasting not only the next MCU blockbuster with Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange 2but also the very first official images Avatar 2.

In more than ten years, Jack Sully has come a long way. The former marine has founded a family on his adopted planet, but his environment will find himself again threatened by the return of Colonel Miles Quaritch, still camped by Stephen Lang. far from the forest, the Na’vi will explore new landsand in particular the underwater world of Pandora.

In the casting, we will find the main duo formed by Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana in the roles of Jake and Neytiri. No trace, however, of Sigourney Weaver, who should also sign the return of her character Grace Augustine, or even of Kate Winslet, who nevertheless confirmed her presence on the set by sharing a photo of her in motion capture underwater.

If it is not very talkative, this first trailer promises us at least one thing: 3D is not dead. Visually, the film promises to be breathtaking and promises to repeat the technical prowess of the first part in 2009. It remains to be seen whether the result will be up to the colossal challenge that awaits James Cameron.

Appointment on next December 14 to discover Avatar 2: The Waterway on the big screen. In the meantime, the first installment in the saga is already available for Disney+ subscribers.
