Honor puts the package on the photo with its Honor 70 and 70 Pro (+)

In China, Honor unveils three new smartphones: the Honor 70, 70 Pro and 70 Pro+. This new cuvée, positioned between the middle and the top of the range, puts on the photo.

The announcements are linked on the Chinese market and it is the turn of Honor to distinguish itself. The brand has lifted the veil on three new smartphones: les Honor 70, 70 Pro and 70 Pro+. A few weeks after the launch of Magic4 Pro in France, a new range is therefore appearing. The three models offer very similar designs, highlighting an imposing back photo block reminiscent of that of the Huawei P50 Pro. Remember that Honor has been on its own for more than a year, which allows it to escape the sanctions of the Chinese giant.

The advantage of the range: its photo module

The main curiosity of this smartphone is also on the photo side. Honor does not fail to highlight the presence of the Sony IMX800 sensor, 54 megapixels and 1/1.49 inch in size. Present on the three smartphones, it is associated with a lens opening at f / 1.9 and promises significant improvements for night and backlit photos. The brand adds 50 megapixel ultra wide-angle also acting as a macro camera.

On the Honor 70 Pro+ and 70 Pro, we also find an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical and 30x digital zoom. The basic model, the Honor 70, skips the telephoto module and is content with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

On the front, a 50 megapixel selfie camera (f/2.4, 100°) is present on the Pro variants. In addition to the material aspect, Honor evokes the presence of a Vlog function with autofocus. Presented as ” an industry first », the feature must allow following a specific person in a group video.

Slight technical differences between the Honor 70 Pro + and 70 Pro

Headlining this series, the Honor 70 Pro+ offers a 6.78-inch OLED screen displaying in Full HD+ with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Just below, a puce MediaTek Dimensity 9000 takes place and comes with 8 to 12 GB of RAM. Storage is pegged at 256GB, without the ability to add a microSD card. This SoC engraved in 4 nm offers 5G compatibility to this smartphone; which also supports wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

For autonomy, the Honor 70 Pro + has a 4500mAh battery compatible with the charge rapide 100 W.

The Honor 70 Pro largely takes up the technical data sheet of the Pro+ model. It offers the same photo configuration, the same screen and the same battery. The main difference is at the level of its chip, with the presence of the Dimensity 8000 (5nm) from MediaTek. The SoC is still entitled to 8 to 12 GB of RAM and more generous storageranging from 256 to 512 GB.

Honor 70: the Sony IMX800 sensor, with a Snapdragon chip

The Honor 70 is a little different and is slightly smaller than its predecessors. It has a 6.67 inch OLED screendisplaying in Full HD+ à 120 Hz. Inside, Honor does not offer the latest flagships from MediaTek and is moving towards a well-known chip in our region. It’s about Snapdragon 778G+ de Qualcomm, accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. A solid proposal, even if we should not expect performance inferior to that offered by the models under Dimensity.

To power this smartphone, we are entitled to a larger battery than on the Pro models (4 800 mAh). On the other hand, it is limited to a 66W fast charging. Remember that the photo part includes the Sony IMX800, but this model does not include a telephoto lens. It is limited to a 32 megapixel module (f / 2.4), against 50 megapixels for the Pro versions.

Price and availability

Announced in China, the range Honor 70 will be officially available from June 7. The Honor 70, Honor 70 Pro and Honor 70 Pro+ will respectively be sold from 2,699 yuan (about 375 euros excluding taxes); 3,699 yuan (about 515 euros excluding tax) and 4,299 yuan (about 600 euros excluding tax). For now, the manufacturer has not mentioned an international launch for this series.

However, it’s a safe bet that the Honor 70 will be the next of the brand to settle in France. As a reminder, the Honor 50 made its debut in France in the fall of 2021.
