Fitbit launches a new feature that will analyze sleep patterns

The Google team announced a new feature that Fitbit is rolling out that will analyze users’ sleep patterns.

Beyond telling you if you have met the rest goal, it will show you a monthly analysis of your sleep habits taking into account a series of factors.

New feature to analyze sleep habits with Fitbit

The new premium feature of Fitbit It’s called “Sleep Profile” and it promises to offer users a deeper analysis of their sleeping patterns:

Sleep Profile analyzes your sleep across 10 key metrics each month, calculating trends and comparing them to what’s typical for your age and gender, so you can discover where you can improve

So beyond showing us if we have slept a certain number of hours, it will show us a series of data taking into account different criteria based on our sleep patterns during a certain period of time.

Of course, it will present certain “ideal” ranges, taking into account our age and gender, to show us where we stand and how we can improve our sleeping habits in the long term. Taking all this data into account, this Fitbit function will provide us with a monthly sleep analysis.

And if you’re not one to analyze data, Fitbit makes it even easier for you, comparing your sleep style to one of six animal archetypes. For example, your sleeping habits reflected in the last monthly analysis may represent you with the character of a bear, a giraffe, a turtle, among others.

This does not mean that there is an ideal animal that you have to reach, it is just a fun way to represent your sleeping habits during the month. An interpretation that can change every month.

In order for this feature to provide all of this data and graphs, the user’s sleep will need to be analyzed for at least 14 nights. One thing to keep in mind is that this feature is premium, and at this early stage, it will only be available on select Fitbit devices.
